PRIVACY POLICY
When you use our services, you’re trusting us with your information. We understand this is a big responsibility and we work hard to protect your information and put you in control. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can update, manage, and delete your information.
The mission of the SpecialScores.com website, operated by Special Scores, LLC (“SpecialScores”, “Site”, “We”, “Us”, “Our”), is to empower individuals to exercise their personal privacy and economic rights. Accordingly, we are sensitive to your concerns about how we use the personal information we collect from you and about you. We advocate for privacy and have implemented this Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”), as well as internal policies and practices, to keep your personal and financial information secure.
This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of the Personally Identifiable Information we collect about you. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Use and Terms of Service, and therefore governs your use of the Services.
By using SpecialScores, you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy in full. If you do not accept this Privacy Policy in full, as incorporated into our Terms of Use and Terms of Service, you must immediately close your browser and discontinue all use of this website now and in the future.
I. What Information Do We Collect About Our Visitors and Our Customers?
Traffic Data. SpecialScores may collect a variety of visitor data such as, but not limited to, IP addresses, browser settings, internet service provider (ISP) information, referring/exit pages, operating systems, date/time stamps, and clickstream data (collectively “Visitor Data”). The SpecialScores internal servers and software automatically recognize Visitor Data. SpecialScores may use Visitor Data to compile traffic data about the types of visitors who use the Site at specific intervals (collectively “Traffic Data”).
We may use Traffic Data to analyze Site traffic, but this information is not examined for Personally Identifiable Information. We may also use Traffic Data to diagnose problems with our server, administer our Site, or display content according to your preferences. Visitor Data and Traffic Data may also be shared with business partners or affiliates on an aggregated and anonymous basis.
Cookies and Similar Technologies. SpecialScores may use the standard cookie feature of major browser applications and third-party providers, including Google Analytics features (Remarketing, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, the DoubleClick Campaign Manager Integration and Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting), or employ internally developed cookies and tracking codes, that allow SpecialScores to store a small piece of data on a visitor’s computer, or any other device a visitor uses to access Services, about his or her visit to the Site or use of other plug-ins exchanging information with SpecialScores (“Applications”). (The Site and Applications are sometimes collectively referred to as “Services” for simplicity.) Similar technologies, such as java scripts or etags, are also used to analyze trends, administer the website, track users’ movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” directory. If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some areas of our site, such order forms, will be limited.
Pixels/ Web Beacons. We employ a software technology called pixels (a.k.a. web beacons), that help us track referrals from our partners and affiliates and better manage content on our site. Pixels/ web beacons are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, pixels/ web beacons are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by pixels/ web beacons to our customers’ Personally Identifiable Information.
3rd Party Tracking. The use of tracking technologies by our service providers, technology partners or other 3rd party assets (such as social media links) on the site is not covered by our Privacy Policy. These 3rd parties may use cookies, pixels/ web beacons, images, and scripts to help them better manage their content on our site. We do not have access or control over these technologies. We do not tie the information gathered to our Customers’ or Users’ Personally Identifiable Information.
Personal Information. SpecialScores requires each customer to provide us with personal information (collectively “Personally Identifiable Information”) to access and use our products and services. Personally Identifiable Information is captured when a visitor accesses Services, or speaks on the phone with a SpecialScores employee, and willingly discloses that information. This disclosure may occur when a visitor registers with an Online Service, engages in transactions, contacts customer service, or participates in contests, promotions, surveys, forums, content submissions, requests for suggestions, or other aspects of services offered by SpecialScores.
Personally Identifiable Information includes but is not limited to: (i) “Contact Data” (such as your name, address, city, state, zip code, phone number, and email address); (ii) “Financial Data” (such as your credit card number, expiration date, and verification code or bank account information); (iii) “Demographic Data” (such as your occupation and sex); (iv) “Legal Data” (such as your social security number, mortgage information, insurance information, drivers license number and other sensitive information necessary to generate legal documents); (v) “Biometric Data” (such as your electronic signature and your driver’s license photograph); and (vi) “Geographic Data” (such as your place of birth and your prior residential address).
We may also receive information about our customers or potential customers from other sources, including employers who have purchased our products on behalf of their employees. In some instances we may combine this data with information we already have or that we later receive from our customers. This helps us to update, expand and analyze our records and to provide better service to customers. We will only use this information for the specific reasons that it was provided to us. Examples of the types of Personally Identifiable Information that we may receive from third parties include Contact Data and Legal Data.
We may collect the information of 3rd party individuals as necessary; SpecialScores uses this information for the sole purpose of administering its services for our customers, and does not use such information for any other reason.
For the purposes of providing our Services, it may be necessary to transmit certain personal information to a credit reporting agency, data furnisher, data broker, or other third-party entity. Thereafter, such credit reporting agency, data furnisher, data broker, or other third-party entity will have possession and control of your personal information. The SpecialScores Privacy Policy does not cover this or similar third-party actions.
Calls/Electronic Communications. In the regular course of our business, SpecialScores may monitor and record phone conversations or email communications between you and SpecialScores employees for training and quality assurance purposes. We may receive a confirmation when you open or click on content in an email from us, which helps us make our communications to you more useful and interesting.
